Energy Analysis: Trigeneration and Heat Pump Usage Analysis and Reports
Total Gross Square Footage: 2.200.000 sf.
The comprehensive analysis and engineering report outlines the electric power demand of the new hospital via the energy modelling study results. 3990 MW electrical generating capacity from cogeneration system is proposed. It has been established that cogeneration system in this capacity can meet 93% of the hospital's annual electricity consumption. An absorption chiller system with 2700 kW cooling capacity can be installed to meet the demand. For reducing the energy needs of the building and the reduction of energy costs throughout the life cycle of the hospital, the following strategies have been suggested.
1) Building envelope thermal performance and the use of large glass facade shading elements,
2) The use of condensing boilers with economizers (efficiency over 95%).
3) Using water-cooled chiller systems with partial capacity at around 6 pm and to feasibility study of ice storage,
4) The use of "demand controlled ventilation system",
5) The use of efficient lighting systems,
6) Establishment of Building Automation Systems (with specifications in mechanical installation project report), etc.
